There’s a lot that goes into making a video game. But before we can get to the development process, we want to make sure you know exactly what goes into making an actual game. So with that in mind, let’s take some time to talk about the various stages of game development.

Pre-Production

As well as creating an early prototype of your game that you can play around with to test out different ideas before committing them to code.

While it may sound like a simple process, game design takes a lot of time and consideration. You’ll need to create a detailed design document that lays out all of your game’s features and mechanics, as well as any art assets you need.

The Reliable Pipeline

Once your storyboard has been finalized then we move onto pre-production where assets like character models are created based on those designs along with environments too if necessary (like indoor vs outdoor). These assets are then used during production so everything looks consistent across all platforms I’m targeting which could mean PC/Mac computers but also consoles like PlayStation 4s or Xbox Ones depending upon whether I’m making action-adventure titles versus role-playing ones.
